Freelance Writer Marketplace Scripted Raises $4.5 Million In Series A

is a marketplace for businesses to hire freelance writers to help create high quality content.  The company has raised $4.5 million in Series A funding led by Crosslink Capital and Redpoint Ventures.  Other investors that participated in this round include James Currier (Ooga Labs), Stan Chudnovsky (Ooga Labs), Rick Marini (Branchout CEO), Michael Birch (Bebo co-founder), Chris Michel (Military.com co-founder), and Paige Craig.  Chris Moore (Redpoint) and Eric Chin (Crosslink) is joining Scripted’s board of directors through this funding round.

There are currently over 1,000 customers that are on Scripted.  Scripted.com also sells content to businesses that want to build their inbound marketing efforts.  Scripted has access to around 80,000 pre-vetted U.S. based writers that has a wide expertise on various topics.  Scripted reviews every writer and pitches topics to businesses.  Scripted automatically copy edits work also.
