Facebook’s Mobile Ad Revenues May Hit $2 Billion This Year

Facebook’s mobile advertising revenues are expected to hit $2 billion this year, according to forecasts by eMarketer.  This is an increase of over 300% from last year.  Facebook hit less than half a billion dollars last year in mobile ad revenues.

These numbers are shocking because Facebook had virtually no mobile revenues in 2011.  The company first launched mobile revenues in 2012.  Facebook reported $5 billion in revenues total last year, which is up from $3.7 billion the year before.

Facebook’s mobile ad revenues are eclipsed by Google.  Google is expected to make around $8.85 billion this year and over half of that is expected to be from worldwide mobile revenues.  Facebook is expected to see around 10% of global mobile ad dollars.
