Around 500,000 People Are Joining Apple iTunes Per Day
During Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), the company revealed that there was around 575 million iTunes users. Given the current trajectory, Apple is expected to hit over 600 million within the next two months.
Asymco analyst Horace Dediu took the numbers that Apple disclosed in the past and compared that with the rates from today. Based on Apple’s current run rate, there is now 500,000 new iTunes accounts being created per day.
That is a lot of credit card information that is being stored, which means that Apple’s security needs to be really beefed up. Back in February, Apple iTunes hit a major milestone, 25 billion songs total sold.
