Infineon and Atmel Settle Patent Infringement Case
Infineon is a German chip manufacturing company that has settled a patent infringement lawsuit filed against Atmel. The patent lawsuit has been ongoing for more than two years. Atmel is going to pay Infineon an undisclosed amount.
Infineon filed the lawsuit against Atmel in April 2011. The lawsuit was filed at the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. The patents in the lawsuit was regarding microcontrollers.
“Infineon is pleased to have reached this agreement with Atmel,” stated Michael von Eickstedt, the General Counsel and Corporate Vice President Legal & Patents at Infineon Technologies AG. “This outcome is a further affirmation of our ongoing efforts to vigorously protect our intellectual property rights and business interests.”
