Cloud Software Company Socrata Raises $18 Million
Socrata is a Seattle-based cloud software company that is focused exclusively on making access to government data easier for every day usage. The company has raised $18 million in Series B funding led by OpenView Venture Partners. Existing investors Morgenthaler Ventures and Frazier Technology Partners also participated in this round.
Socrata is an open-data platform that can pull information from silos where information has been stored. Socrata grabs the data and plugs it into a modern interface for websites.
