This past week, there was a military ouster of Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi.  In order to make tweets from Egypt more understandable, Twitter has been translating tweets written in the local language from prolific users in the country.

“As part of our experiment with Tweet text translation, we’ve enabled translation for some of the most-followed accounts in Egypt, so people around the world can better understand and keep up with what’s happening there,” stated a Twitter spokesman.

Since many politicians are tweeting Arabic, it is difficult for non-Arabic speakers to understand what they are saying.  One example is of a translated tweet is written by Muhammad Morsi above .  The translation is not exactly accurate, but at least it gives us the gist of what they are saying.
