Barnes & Noble CEO William Lynch Resigns

On Monday, Barnes & Noble announced that CEO and director William Lynch has resigned.  Lynch joined Barnes & Noble in March 2010.  Lynch was brought in to help the company transition from a simple brick-and-mortar retail company to a digital e-book business.

“I appreciate the opportunity to serve as CEO of this terrific Company over the last three years,” stated Lynch. “There is a great executive team and Board in place at Barnes & Noble, and I look forward to the many innovations the Company will be bringing to its millions of physical and digital media customers in the future.”

Michael P. Huseby has been named CEO of Nook Media and President of Barnes & Noble.  Kanuj Malhotra, the VP of Corporate Development has been promoted to chief financial officer of Nook Media.
