Call me biased for being based in Michigan, but this is my new favorite tech company ad of all time! The ad celebrates the new Google Maps app features. Set to the song “Detroit Rock City” by Kiss, the Google Maps app user in the ad runs around Detroit to visit all of the popular landmarks. The guy in the ad watches the Tigers play at Comerica Park, cabs past the Michigan Central Station, takes the People Mover train to go to Corktown, and has a drink at LJ’s bar. He even stops at Saint Andrew’s Hall to watch a show and then ends the night being dropped off in a motorbike sidecar at the Westin Book Cadillac. Before going to bed, he has to go to the Lafayette Coney Island to grab a hot dog though. Best ad ever! Check it out in the clip above.
