T-Mobile has announced a new plan that lets users trade in old devices and upgrade their phones up to twice per year.  The monthly cost for this plan includes device insurance and is added on top of the regular plan and the cost of the device.  The cost of JUMP! is $10 per month.

This deal complements T-Mobile’s Uncarrier plans.  The Uncarrier plans don’t require you to sign a two-year contract.  T-Mobile’s plan lets you pay off your phone in two years.  The JUMP! plan lets you trade in your old phone, which lets you eliminate the money that is owed on your device and get a new phone as a replacement.

“Customers can upgrade to a new phone, financed through T-Mobile’s Equipment Installment Program (EIP), twice every 12 months after they’ve been in the JUMP! program for six months. Simply trade in an eligible T-Mobile phone in good working condition at a participating store location. Any remaining EIP payments will be eliminated, and current customers can purchase new phones for the same upfront pricing as new customers, with device financing and Simple Choice Plan, a no-annual-service contract. With JUMP!, current customers never pay more for their new phones than new customers,” said T-Mobile in a statement.

The JUMP! plan costs $10 per month and you also get device protection included.  If you are already paying $8 per month to insure your phone for damage, then upgrading for $2 extra per month just makes sense.

4G LTE:  T-Mobile also announced today that their 4G LTE network is reaching 157 million users across the United States.  The company is now aiming to hit 200 million users by the end of the year.  The 4G LTE network is now available in 116 metro areas including NYC, LA, San Francisco, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, and Philadelphia.  T-Mobile is already putting the MetroPCS acquisition to use by unifying their spectrum in markets like Las Vegas.  Below is a list of some of the cities that T-Mobile upgraded their networks in:
