has named three new members to their board of directors today.  This includes former Microsoft chief technology officer Ray Ozzie, former chief executive officer Liberty Media Robert Bennett, and former McDonald’s chief executive officer and chairman James Skinner.  Ray Ozzie left Microsoft in late 2010 and launched a new startup called Cocomo last year.  HP chairman Ray Lane stepped down from the company in April.  John Hammergren and G. Kennedy Thompson also left the company that day.  Ralph Whitworth, an activist investor, has been working as the chairman on an interim basis since then.  HP is still looking for a new chairman though.  HP now has 12 directors.

“In April, we made a pledge to recruit the very best, most talented leaders to HP’s already outstanding board,” said Whitworth in a statement. “Dob, Ray and Jim bring tremendous capital allocation, technological, operational and leadership expertise and experience to the table. I’m confident they will make enormous contributions as we support Meg and her team in rebuilding HP by better serving our customers, strengthening our partnerships and building value for our shareholders. It’s an enormously satisfying time to be part of HP, and today’s announcement adds to our ability to deliver on our promises.”

Bennett will become a member of the Finance and Investment Committee and the Audit Committees and Ozzie will join the Technology Committee and the Finance and Investment Committee.  Skinner will be joining the Audit, HR and Compensation, and Nominating and Governance Committees.
