Google Street View Says Bonjour To The Eiffel Tower
Google Street View has now added current 360-imagery and archived photos to the main floors of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Google Street View has been adding millions of photos to their archives every week or so.
Between the end of June, we have since Google Street View add pictures from Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, trails and volcanoes in Hawaii, Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, and the Diagon Alley from Harry Potter movies.
The Google Cultural Institute worked with the Eiffel Tower Operating Company for the Eiffel Tower imagery. The Eiffel Tower Operating Company used Street View imagery to create several online exhibitions about the tower. The exhibitions feature over 50 archival images, engravings, plans, etc. that tells the story of the Eiffel Tower’s development and social impact in the 19th century. This article was written by Amit Chowdhry.
