EyeEm Raises $6 Million From Earlybird Venture Capital
EyeEm is a community and marketplace for high quality mobile photography. EyeEm has raised $6 million in funding from Earlybird Venture Capital along with existing investors Wellington Partners and Passion Capital. EyeEm will be using the funding to extend their global reach and build a mobile photography marketplace. The EyeEm smartphone app is free and is available in 20 languages on iOS and Android.
The EyeEm community is seeing around 1 million new users per month. EyeEm has a constant stream of high quality and inspired photographs. EyeEm has millions of users that go on photography “Missions” and contests. EyeEm’s mobile photographers own their images. Brands, marketers, and agencies can purchase them directly from the photographers.
“The community continually inspires me. Our entire team comes from photography roots and we are striving to build the best community for mobile imagery and enable a new generation of photographers to take their passion to the next level”, stated EyeEm chief executive officer Florian Meissner.
EyeEm Smart is a service that has smart tagging and data enrichment technology, which helps photographers and clients quickly surface relevant content through an intuitive search interface. EyeEm automatically indexes photos to match and connect community members. EyeEm helps photographers get discovered and followed by millions of people.
The EyeEm Marketplace is for brands, agencies, and small businesses that want to find crowd-sourced mobile stock images of places, environments, and people. Brands like Redbull, Vice Magazine, and Lufthansa have set up curated missions to crowd-source new images for social marketing campaigns.
