Private Photo App Company KeepSafe Raises $3.4 Million
KeepSafe is a company that has developed an application with the same name. The KeepSafe app lets you created a password-protected photo gallery. The company has raised $3.4 million in a round of funding led by Floodgate. KeepSafe has hit 13 million users and 6 million of them are active every month.
Many people like to use this app to store “very personal” photos, especially because many parents let their kids play with their phones and they often times open up the camera app. KeepSafe founder Zouhair Belkoura uses the app for separating out work sketches and ideas from personal photos of friends and family.
The KeepSafe app launched around a year and a half ago. Mike Maples of Floodgate will be joining the board of directors. Existing investors Asset Management and Strive also participated in this round.
The funding will be used to hire additional engineering talent and for product development. The company earns revenues by selling premium services like a fake PIN lock screen.
