Google Acquires Speech Recognition Patents From SR Tech Group
Google has made a deal with SR Tech Group in regards to a group of U.S. patents and patent applications. Google is buying the patents from SR Tech Group for an undisclosed sum, which covers several speech-related patents.
One of the patent covers a speech interface for search engines and a patent that covers a system that modifies and updates a speech recognition program.
“Google appreciates the innovations of SR Tech Group, and is pleased to acquire SR Tech Group’s patents and patent applications,” stated Google Deputy General Counsel for Patents and Patent Litigation Allen Lo. “This patent portfolio complements our existing holdings of over 50,000 patents and applications worldwide.”
These patents will complement Google’s portfolio of 50,000 patents worldwide.
