Timehop Raises $3 Million
Timehop is a social network for people that want to reflect on the past. The app originally started out as being called 4SquareAnd7YearsAgo. The company shifted into a business model that is mobile-focused and helps you find old memories from your social networks.
Based in New York, Timehop has raised $3 million in funding led by existing investor Spark Capital. Spark principal Andrew Parker has joined the board of the directors. Previous investor O’Reilly Alphatech Ventures also participated in this round.
Timehop grabs status updates from over a year ago and reminds you of friends that you have lost contact with. Timehop grabs status updates from Foursquare, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. It also shares thoughts that you had one year ago from this day. Timehop will be using the funding to build their team. Currently Timehop have 7 employees.
Timehop aggregates Foursquare checkins, Facebook status updates, photos, Twitter updates, and Instagram photos from one year ago and sends them to you in a daily email.
