T-Mobile US Inc (TMUS) Announces Q2 2013 Financials

T Mobile US Inc (NYSE:TMUS) has announced their Q2 2013 results.  T Mobile US Inc (NYSE:TMUS) said that they added 1.1 million total customers.  Of that number, 685,000 were post-paid with a higher credit rating score.  T Mobile US Inc (NYSE:TMUS) also added 8.9 million customers when they acquired MetroPCS.

“T-Mobile’s Un-carrier approach has clearly resonated with consumers. By fixing the things that drive them mad, like contracts and upgrades, and freeing them from the two-year sentences imposed on them by our competitors, they are choosing the new T-Mobile in unprecedented numbers,” stated T Mobile US Inc (NYSE:TMUS) President & CEO John Legere. “We are just beginning and we will continue to apply this innovative thinking to the Un-carrier offers we create and to the internal operations of our company, which taken together are driving significant shareholder value creation.”

T Mobile US Inc (NYSE:TMUS) ended Q2 with 44 million customers.  In the same period one year ago, T Mobile US Inc (NYSE:TMUS) lost a net 557,000 post-paid customers.  T Mobile US Inc (NYSE:TMUS) is expecting to add 1 million to 1.2 million post-paid customers.

Financials: T Mobile US Inc (NYSE:TMUS) reported a rise of 27.5% in revenues to $6.23 billion, which is above analyst expectations.  But they saw a loss of $16 million, compared to a profit of $207 million one year ago.

The adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization fell around 16% to $1.1 billion from a year ago.  T Mobile US Inc (NYSE:TMUS) is expecting full year adjusted earnings, including MetroPCS assets to hit between $5.2 billion and $5.4 billion.  T Mobile US Inc (NYSE:TMUS) announced last month that their 4G LTE is available in 116 metro areas, covering 157 million people.  This surpassed their goal of hitting 100 million people by mid-year.

Even though T Mobile US Inc (NYSE:TMUS) is the smallest out of the four carriers, the company now covers as many 4G LTE markets as Sprint.
