Tastemade Raises $10 Million In Series B Funding

Tastemade is a digital media creation and discovery company that focuses on food.  The company has raised $10 million in Series B funding led by Raine Ventures.  Existing investor Redpoint Ventures also participated in this round.  This is the first investment made by the venture capital arm of The Raine Group.

“Our network of tastemakers are consistently creating fresh and highly engaging content,” stated Tastemade co-founder Larry Fitzgibbon. “This has allowed us to grow our audience rapidly over the last year. We’re excited about bringing tastemakers and food lovers together to create a global media company built for the mobile-social age.”

Tastemade has hit 12 million unique visitors across over 200 countries.  The service is available in over a dozen languages across multiple networks, including YouTube, AOL, Yahoo!, Roku, and the new Tastemade App.

The Tastemade App lets users create their own HD quality episodes of the places and dishes that they love using an iPhone or iPod Touch.  In less than a month of launching the Tastemade mobile app, episodes have been created in 20 countries in over 130 cities covering 7 different languages.
