Fox Sports Digital Buys Intellectual Property And Hires People At Fanhood
Fox Sports Digital has bought the intellectual property and assets of social sports start-up company called Fanhood. Fanhood Brandon Ramsey was named as the Fox Sports Digital vice president of platform engineering. The Fanhood team was hired to help relaunching FoxSports.com.
“FoxSports Digital continues to invest in building a world-class technology leadership team, and the Fanhood acquisition deepens our product development expertise,” stated Fox Sports Digital senior veep Pete Vlastelica. “We are excited about combining the Fox Sports Digital and Fanhood teams to amplify our efforts to help users discover and share sports content in new and unique ways.”
Ramsey will be in charge of FoxSports’ personalization and social product development. The team will be joining Fox Sports subsidiary Yardbarker to create a platform technology center in the Bay Area for Fox Sports Digital, according to Variety.
“We believe in developing applications that make following sports with your friends easier and more fun,” added Ramsey. “We look forward to applying our expertise to FOX Sports Digital’s vision of creating a personalized, socially integrated content platform.”
