Barnes & Noble, Inc. (BKS) Drops Price Of NOOK Simple Touch GlowLight To $99
Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE:BKS) has dropped the price of the Nook Simple Touch GlowLight to only $99 after a $20 cut. This e-reader competes directly against the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite ($119) and the Kobo Glo ($129.99). This seems to be a strategic move for back-to-school.
“At just $99, our high-quality, top-rated NOOK Simple Touch GlowLight is an unbeatable value for customers who are seeking an unparalleled, pure reading experience that goes from beach to bed, day or night,” said Michael P. Huseby, the President of Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE:BKS) & CEO of NOOK Media LLC. “NOOK Simple Touch GlowLight is the first Reader to hit the market with built-in illumination for reading in the dark and is the perfect way to experience NOOK’s best-in-class digital reading experience at an unbelievable price.”
One of the distinguishing features in the Simple Touch GlowLight is that it is the first tablet designed to address E Ink customers’ request to allow people to read in the dark in bed so that it does not disturb a person’s significant other that is sleeping. With a simple touch, the brightness can be adjusted. The Touch GlowLight weighs under 7 ounces as well. The Touch GlowLight can hold up to 1,000 NOOK Books. This article was written by Amit Chowdhry.
