Line Is Hitting $10 Million Per Month In Sticker Sales
Japanese mobile messaging company Line is now hitting over 1 billion yen ($10 million) per month by selling virtual stickers, which is content that is similar to emoticons. Line hit 200 million users last month.
Line has around 52 apps including games, communication services, and photo apps on iOS and Android. These apps have been downloaded over 290 million times. The Line Camera app has hit 48 million downloads worldwide, according to TheNextWeb.
Line also generates revenues by charging for in-app purchases in games and for corporate messaging account. Line hit revenues of $132 million in Q2 2013 revenues.
