Online Grammar Learning Company NoRedInk Raises $2 Million
NoRedInk is an online learning platform that helps students increase their writing and grammar skills. The company was founded by Jeff Scheur, an english teacher at Whitney Young high school. Scheur created the company as part of a goal to help his students with their grammar skills.
NoRedInk has raised $2 million in funding from Google Ventures, The Social+Capital Partnership, Learn Capital, and Charles River Ventures.
Over 33 million questions have been solved on the website and NoRedInk has reached over 12,000 schools. This service helps schools that are struggling meet Common Core State Standards in English/Language Arts. The service is also helpful when studying for the ACTs and SATs.
“For kids to improve dramatically,” stated Scheur, “they need engaging material and rapid feedback on their progress. I want to live in a world where all students have access to those resources, and that’s why we’re building this.”
