Couchbase’s sales grew by over 400% in 2013 and has won many new enterprise accounts. The company plans to use the funding for expanding international sales and marketing along with launching new innovative products.
This past December, Couchbase launched version 2.0. Couchbase version 2.0 includes new document database features and cross data center replication.
“We have seen a significant increase in the adoption of NoSQL by enterprises,” stated Couchbase CEO Bob Wiederhold. “They are doing deep strategic evaluations of NoSQL technologies and our leadership in providing easy scalability, consistently high performance, and cross data center replication has allowed us to consistently win these evaluations. This funding will allow us to rapidly expand the number of enterprises we serve around the world.”This article was written by Amit Chowdhry.
