NASA’s Instagram Account Takes Off
NASA is known for taking some of the most amazing photos of all time. And now the space agency has launched an Instagram account.
“Instagram has a passionate following of users who are hungry for new and exciting photos,” stated NASA Press Secretary Lauren Worley. “We believe we have some of the most engaging images on and off the planet — and we can’t wait to engage with Instagrammers.”
The first post (above) celebrates the launch of NASA’s Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer (LADEE) spacecraft. This image was taken July 20, 1969 from Apollo 11. It shows the Earth rising over the limb of the moon much as the Harvest Moon does from the perspective of our planet.
