Opera has built a new browser for tablets called Opera Coast.  Opera Coast was built due to frustration browsers have not really changed much since Mosaic.  Due to the growing popularity of tablets, Opera felt like there was an opportunity to change the look and feel of web browsers.  Opera Coast is the company’s first shot at building a tablet-optimized browser.

Coast simply has a “home” button at the bottom of the screen and a smaller button in the bottom-right corner to show you websites that you have visited recently.  Most of the browser’s interactions are controlled using gestures.  The left and right swipes replace back and forward.

Coast also has a home screen with large icons for most-visited websites.  The browser automatically adds a list of recently visited websites to the bottom of the home screen that can be added to your bookmarks.  The home screen also has a search bar.
