Dell Is Launching A New Windows 8.1 Tablet Under The Venue Mobile Brand

Dell Venue Tablet
Dell is introducing a new Windows 8.1 based tablet called the Venue.  The Venue is brand name that Dell abandoned early last year, which was used on a group of smartphones.

The new Venue tablet will have an 8-inch screen that runs on Intel’s Atom chip called Bay Trail.  Dell vice president Neil Hand demonstrated the product at the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco.  The Dell Venue will have data connectivity and long-battery life.  More details about the Venue will be announced on October 2nd at an event in New York City.

The Dell Venue has an 8-inch display with full HD 1080p resolution.  The Venue tablet also has a microUSB port that is used for charging and data transfer.  There is also an HDMI port that can be used for video mirroring.

Given that Dell has a lot of competition in the Windows tablet space including Microsoft’s own Surface tablet, likely we will see the company go on a marketing blitz for it this holiday season.
