Google Buys Bump For At Least $30 Million
Google has acquired Bump, a mobile app company where users can exchange contact information and files by bumping their phones together. AllThingsD pegs the deal at between $30 and $60 million.
“The Bump team has demonstrated a strong ability to quickly build and develop products that users love, and we think they’ll be a great fit at Google,” stated a Google spokesperson.
Bump raised around $20 million from Sequoia Capital and Andreessen Horowitz. Bump was founded in 2008 and has been downloaded over 100 million times since then.
“Bump and Flock will continue to work as they always have for now,” stated Bump CEO David Lieb.
