Mobile Analytics Company App Annie Raises $15 Million
App Annie is a mobile market data startup that has raised $15 million in Series C funding led by Sequoia Capital. With the funding, App Annie plans on hiring more employees and building new analysis tools with the funding.
Based in Beijing, App Annie has a presence in San Francisco. The company tracks a total number of apps that are most downloaded and sees the most revenue on the Apple App Store, Google Play, the Mac App Store, the Windows Store, and Amazon. App Annie raised $6 million around a year ago.
App Annie measures downloads, but it cannot keep track of engagement unless there are in-app purchases. App Annie keeps track of in-app purchases based on the countries and categories.
Sequoia Capital partner Tim Lee and uSamp CEO Alan Gould are joining our App Annie’s board of directors.
