Microsoft Offering 200GB Of SkyDrive Storage For $100 Per Year, Free For 2 Years With New Surface Purchase
Microsoft Corporation has added a new pricing option for SkyDrive. SkyDrive now has a 200GB storage plan that costs $100 per year. In the past, Microsoft’s largest paid storage plan was 100GB for $50 per year. This price is slightly lower than what Google chargers for their 200GB per year plan at $120.
Dropbox charges $99 per year for a 100GB Pro plan. Microsoft tightly integrated SkyDrive into Windows 8.1. The service caches files and folders regularly on the local machine stores files in the cloud. Microsoft said that the 200GB is enough space to take a photo, every hour from the moment someone is born until the day that they graduate from college.
People that buy a new Surface 2 or Surface Pro 2 will automatically get the 200GB of SkyDrive storage for free for two years. They will also get free Skype landline calling and unlimited Skype WiFi for over a year.
