eBay is going to expand the eBay Now same-day delivery service to London, England starting next year.  eBay has partnered with UK-based retail company Argos to set up the service.  eBay launched the Now service last year in New York and San Francisco.  London will be the first international expansion for the service.

eBay Now is available in app form on Android and iOS.  Users can order and receive products from retailers within an hour of purchasing them.  The shipping fees in the U.S. is $5, but it is unknown how much the shopping will cost in the U.K.

eBay’s Click and Collect will be tested at around 150 Argos locations in the U.K.  The service will allow customers to buy items from eBay merchants and pick them up at the local Argos outlets.  At least 50 merchants will be inovled in the launch.

“The distinction between offline and online shopping continues to blur. At eBay we continue to find new ways to connect buyers and sellers. Our mission is connecting people with the things they need and love. Traditional retail isn’t going away; it is transforming. Smart retailers are innovating, reimagining the store and what it means to shop. We’re proud to join Argos on this journey. Their unique store network and operating model is fit for serving customers in a digital future. This exciting pilot takes us one step nearer to our goal of offering customers an inspired and seamless shopping experience,” stated eBay president Devin Wenig.
