Ford CEO Alan Mulally Is Strongly Being Considered For Microsoft CEO Position
Ford CEO Alan Mulally is believed to be the primary contender for the CEO position at Microsoft, succeeding Steve Ballmer. Before running Ford Motor Company, Mulally was the CEO of Seattle-based Boeing. Mulally still owns a home in Seattle and reportedly misses the Pacific Northwest.
Mulally is also friends with Steve Ballmer and consulted him when reorganizing Ford. Mulally knows how to cut through various levels of bureaucracy at large organizations and that is what Microsoft needs.
At any given moment, Microsoft is working on hundreds of separate major projects. Another contender is former Nokia Corporation CEO Stephen Elop. Microsoft announced earlier this month that they were buying out Nokia for several billion dollars.
