HelloFresh Raises $7.5M Led By Phenomen Ventures

HelloFresh is an online meal preparation service that has raised $7.5 million in funding.  The company spun out of Berlin-based incubator Rocket Internet.  HelloFresh puts together ingredients for a dish and then delivers it to your door.  HelloFresh has raised $7.5 million in funding, led by Phenomen Ventures.

“After interest from a wide range of investors, the decision to select Phenomen VC was influenced by their experience in supporting truly global businesses – aligned with our ambitions to become a global leader in the online food space and establish HelloFresh as a global online food brand,” stated HelloFresh CEO Dominik Richter. “It is our aim to use this funding to increase our market share in the US market and expand our very clear market leadership in all other markets by continuing our double-digit month- over-month growth.”

HelloFresh is currently active in Germany, United Kingdom, Australia, and the Netherlands.  The company has shipped several million meals total.  Their revenues have quadrupled revenues and doubled their margins since opening in January 2012.
