Quixey Raises $50 Million In Funding
Quixey is an app search engine that has raised $50 million in funding as part of a round led by Alibaba. Alibaba will be getting a seat on the board of directors at Quixey.
“They’ve been more founder-friendly than almost any V.C. I’ve ever met,” stated Quixey chief executive officer and co-founder Tomer Kagan. “They really believe in the founders having a strong say on the board and a strong say in the company.”
Other investors that participated in this round include GGV Capital, U.S. Venture Partners, and Innovation Endeavors. Quixey has raised $74.2 million in funding thus far.
Quixey’s search engine allows users to search for phrases to describe a task like booking a flight. Quixey shows mobile and desktop apps available for download. Quixey generates revenues by setting up sponsored app results.
