Silvercar Is Coming To LAX

Online car rental service Silvercar is coming to the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) soon.  Silvercar is known for renting out silver Audi A4s.  LAX is Silvercar’s sixth location after Dallas (2 airports), Austin, Houston, and San Francisco.

Silvercar started in 2012 and has been growing at a rapid pace.  Silvercar users can open the cars using their smartphones.  Silvercar raised $5 million in funding out of a $6 million planned round from a single investors, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Silvercar raised $11.5 million out of a $12.3 million round from 13 investors last year.  Some of Silvercar’s investors include Austin Ventures, CrunchFund, SV Angel, and several other angel investors.  Silvercar rents out the vehicles for $89 per day on weekdays and $59 per day on weekends.
