Nokia Corporation (NOK) Reportedly Sold Over 8 Million Lumias Last Quarter
Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) has reportedly sold over a record 8 million Lumias last quarter, according to The Wall Street Journal. This is more than double what they sold in the same quarter in 2012 and more than their previous record of 7.4 million in Q2 2013.
Nokia Corporation is known as being the primary driver of the Windows Phone operating system. According to estimates, Nokia devices account for 88% of all Windows Phones in use.
Nokia is expected to unveil 6 new products on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi, including Nokia’s first tablet computer and smartphone/tablet hybrids (phablets). This event takes place on the same day that Apple is announcing new iPads. Microsoft acquired Nokia’s handset division for $7 billion around a month ago.
