LinkedIn Corp (LNKD) Launches 3 New Mobile Apps

LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) has announced three new mobile apps to help increase productivity.  The new apps are: 1.) LinkedIn Intro, 2.) New Pulse app, and 3.) the LinkedIn iPad app.

LinkedIn Intro

LinkedIn Intro
The LinkedIn Intro app integrates LinkedIn information into the Apple Mail app.  It can pull LinkedIn profiles for anyone that contacts you into the Mail app.  It supports Gmail, Google Apps, Yahoo! Mail, AOL Mail, and iCloud.  The LinkedIn app is built on Rapportive, a social e-mail service that LinkedIn acquired in February 2012.  The LinkedIn Intro app works on iPhones and can be downloaded from Intro.LinkedIn.com.  It will be available in the Apple App Store in a few months.

Pulse

You can now log into the Pulse app with your LinkedIn credentials and it will suggest you to do certain things based on your LinkedIn behaviors.  There is also a commenting section that runs on LinkedIn.  Articles can easily be shared from Pulse to the LinkedIn news feed.

LinkedIn also launched a new iPad application that features a new interface.  LinkedIn bought Pulse for $90 million in stock in cash this past April.  The Pulse app will be available for iOS and Android for smartphones and tablets this week.

The LinkedIn iPad app has a gesture-based system that lets you easily add connections and like/comment on/share stories.  You can download the LinkedIn iPad app from here.

LinkedIn is seeing around 33% of their members visiting from mobile devices.  “This adoption of smartphones over the last decade or so has really changed the way we think about products,” stated LinkedIn senior vice president of products and user experience Deep Nishar.

Recruiter Mobile and Mobile Work With Us

LinkedIn launched Recruiter Mobile and Mobile Work With Us last week.

Recruiter Mobile allows recruiting professionals to find candidates and allow them to send InMails.  They can also be called or texted.  This service is used by over 20,000 companies.

LinkedIn’s Mobile Work With Us gives employers the ability to show job openings on the profiles of employees at their company.  The job ads show up at the top of member profiles.

LinkedIn currently has over 238 million users.
