Facebook Starts Testing Revamped Messenger App For Android

New Facebook Messenger
Facebook has started testing a revamped version of Messenger for Android so that users can instantly see which friends are logged into the app.  You will be able to send text messages through the app to friends and non-Facebook friends.  This update is currently being tested by a limited number of Facebook users.

Facebook improved the navigation at the top of the app.  By tapping on one of the three buttons at the top of the app, you can see recent conversations, display a list of users that have messenger, see who is active, and manage the settings.

“As more and more people use Facebook to connect with their friends on mobile, we are focused on building the best mobile products. Facebook messaging started as a desktop chat experience, but when it comes to messaging on mobile, people want something faster and lighterweight,” said Facebook in a news post.

Text-Messaging: If you want to text message people that do not have Facebook, all you need is that contact’s phone number.  To help people reach you, you just need to confirm our phone number.
