General Motors Company (GM) Names Uwe Ellinghaus As Cadillac CMO
General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) has named Uwe Ellinghaus as the Cadillac chief marketing officer for Global Cadillac. Ellinghaus will oversee the lead global strategic marketing and brand building. The appointment is effect January 1st.
“The addition of Uwe is another important step in the global growth of Cadillac and our leadership team,” stated Bob Ferguson, General Motors senior vice president, Global Cadillac. “Cadillac today is the fastest-growing full-line luxury auto brand, driven by new products that are attracting new buyers to Cadillac. Uwe’s expertise in marketing and luxury brand building will help us extend our growth globally.”
Previously, Ellinghaus was the EVP of marketing and sales at Montblanc International. Montblanc International is a luxury design and accessory brand based in Hamburg, Germany. Ellinghaus also worked in several marketing leadership positions at BMW AG from 1998 to 2012. He was the chief marketing officer for BMW’s brand strategy between 2010 and 2012 where he oversaw the company’s marketing services for the MINI and Rolls-Royce brands.
“Cadillac has always had great heritage, brand character and worldwide recognition,” added Ellinghaus. “Now Cadillac has a new momentum and energy, embodied in its new products. This creates a unique opportunity to build the brand globally.”
