Zola Raises $3.25 Million In Series A Funding
Zola is a wedding registry website that has raised $3.25 million in Series A funding led by Thrive Capital. Joshua Kushner, the founder and managing partner of Thrive Capital, will be joining Zola’s board of directors. Zola will allow couples to select gifts from a collection of items and customize their online registries.
“We have built a beautiful platform that allows modern couples to register for traditional gifts, unique experiences and cash funds in one seamless, easy-to-navigate experience,” said Shan-Lyn Ma, co-founder and CEO of Zola. “This new round of funding will help Zola build out its sophisticated wedding registry platform and mobile apps, and allow us to expand the site’s offerings to include more local experiences for couples around the country.”
Zola co-founder and chairman Kevin Ryan initially funded Zola in the form of a seed round. Ryan also put money in the Series A round of funding. Zola plans on using the funding to expand and refine their e-commerce platform.
Some of Zola’s features include single checkout, customizable landing pages, group gifting, and controlled shipping.
Zola was founded by Shan-Lyn Ma, Nobu Nakaguchi, and Kevin Ryan. The three of them used to work together at Gilt Groupe.
