Bitcasa Raises $11 Million In Series A
Bitcasa is a cloud storage startup that has raised $11 million in a Series A round of funding. Horizons Ventures led this round of funding with participation from Pelion Venture Partners, Samsung Ventures America, Andreessen Horowitz, and First Round Capital.
Bitcasa can store all of your data and files on one of their servers, which lets you delete some of the data from your hard drive without changing what is saved in the cloud. Bitcasa makes accessing files as easy as accessing them from a hard drive on your computer, according to VentureBeat. Bitcasa charges $10 per month.
The cloud storage company plans on using the funding to expand internationally and further develop their technology.
“Now that the product has reached a new level of maturity we want to accelerate adoption and enable people around the globe to take control of their personal belongings and use it in whatever way they chose,” stated Bitcasa CEO Brian Taptich in a statement.
