TouristEye is a mobile app that helps you discover new things to do while traveling.  TouristEye has been acquired by Lonely Planet, a major travel brand.  TouristEye launched in 2010 by several tech entrepreneurs in Spain.

TouristEye grabbed data from various sources for building details of landmarks and things to do in different locations around the world.  TouristEye allowed users to add items to an itinerary that could be viewed offline later so that they could access trip plans even when they were not connected to WiFi and did not have a data plan when traveling.

The terms of the acquisition was undisclosed, but TouristEye’s investors were happy with the price.  TouristEye raised around $500,000 in venture funding from 500 Startups, Plug and Play Innovation Center, and several European angel investors.
