Microsoft 3D Builder App For Windows 8.1 Has Native Support For 3D Printing
Microsoft has launched a 3D printing application in Windows 8.1 that brings native support for printing 3D physical objects. The Microsoft 3D Builder app has a catalog of objects that you can create from ornaments to toys.
“The clean, simple user interface lets you scale, rotate and adjust what you want to print. Add multiple objects to a single print – even stack or push objects into one another to create new ones. Printing 3D objects created in other applications or ones that are downloaded from the Internet is really easy with the 3D Builder app and touch as well,” said Microsoft on the Windows blog.
The Microsoft 3D Builder app supports the ability to combine presents into one larger object. There is also support for importing 3D object files that was made in other software.
3D Systems, MakerBot, and TierTime will be supporting Windows 8.1 in time for the holiday season. The Microsoft retail stores are also selling the MakerBot 3D printers.
