Motorola Changes Policy To Allow Warranties On Developer Edition Phones
Motorola has announced that they are changing the Developer Edition Program. The Developer Edition phones made by Motorola were designed for developers to test and deploy applications on. If a user requests a bootloader unlock code, their warranties would be voided on the Developer Edition by Motorola.
However, this policy has been changed. The warranties will be reinstated on the Developer Edition devices that were bought directly from Motorola in 2012 and 2013.
Requesting an unlock code no longer voids user warranties. Motorola is also going to offer return-to-factory software on their website so that you can format the phone the way it was. This article was written by Amit Chowdhry. You can follow me at @amitchowdhry or on Google+ at +AmitChowdhry
