Sprint Ranks Last In Phone Service Survey By Consumer Reports
Sprint is the third largest wireless carrier based on subscriber base, but it is ranked at the bottom of a survey that was conducted by Consumer Reports based on cell phone service. Sprint received low marks in value, voice, texting, and 4G reliability, according to the Consumer Reports survey released on Thursday. Sprint was ranked number two behind Verizon Wireless one year ago. Sprint is currently upgrading their network for faster and better service, but this transition has affected their customers.
“While the findings in the Consumer Reports’ survey are disappointing, they’re not necessarily surprising,” stated a Sprint representative. “We’ve asked customers during the past year to ‘pardon our dust’ as we build out and upgrade our network.”
To curb subscriber dissatisfaction, Sprint announced their enhanced LTE network called Sprint Spark last month. In areas where coverage has improved, the customer satisfaction has increased.
The top rated carrier was Verizon Wireless. Verizon is facing a lot of pressure in cities like New York and San Francisco though. AT&T received the top rating for 4G reliability.
