Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have partnered on creating a big-screen adaptation of “Sleeper.”  Sleeper is a comic book series that was written by Ed Brubaker with illustration by Sean Phillips.  Affleck and Damon are going to produce the project with Jennifer Todd through Pearl Street Films.

The comic book ran between 2003 and 2005.  The book follows agent Holden Carver.  Carver could absorb pain and pass it to others as he went undercover at a criminal organization.  Carver ended up falling in love with an assassin named Miss Misery, which caused enforcement agencies to question his loyalty.

“The Shield” creator Shawn Ryan is also attached for writing the screenplay with David Wiener.  Wiener is known for working on the crime show “The Killing.”  There are no directors and actors attached to the project yet.

Warner Bros. developed the project in 2008, but the film was stalled.  At that time Sam Raimi and Josh Donen were named as producers.  Tom Cruise was rumored to be starring in the film when it was being worked on back then.
