Wywy is second screen startup company that has raised $7 million in Series B funding. Wywy launched in 2001 with a focus on video and audio detection, but launched on second screen products last year. Wywy’s primary second screen product is multi-screen ad synchronization so that mobile and tablet users can see ads that are connected to the commercials that they see on TV.

Wywy also supports content sync technology for second screen apps. Wywy raised $3.1 million in series A last year. The company supports 200 channels in five countries and they plan to expand in Europe and the U.S.

“Today, using a Second Screen device in parallel to watching TV has become the norm,” stated Cipio managing partner Werner Dreesbach in the funding release. “It is clear that TV advertisers require new approaches to ensure the effectiveness of their campaigns. wywy’s huge success with media agencies and TV advertisers in Germany made the decision to internationalize easy.”
