Peter Clatworthy, 19, is a British teenager that went on eBay UK to buy an Xbox One for his son. After quickly browsing, he bid on a Day One edition of the Xbox One for around $735. The price of a Day One edition was going for around $800 so he thought he got a good deal. What he did not realize was that he bid on a ridiculous auction of a photo of a Xbox Day One edition.

The listing was placed in the “consoles” category and the seller had good feedback, which is why Clatworthy made the purchase, according to the Nottingham Post. The photo of the Day One Xbox had the words “thank you for your purchase” written on the back. The photo was low quality too.

Clatworthy was told by eBay that he would get his money back due to the misleading nature of the listing. There was even several listings with $735 buy it now prices with the title “Xbox One Fifa 14 Day One Edition, Photo Brand New UK 2013.” Those auctions have been removed due to consumer misleading.

Remember to thoroughly read an auction before you buy a product on eBay.
