HealthLoop is a startup that helps doctors maintain engagement with patients after visits. The company has raised $10 million in Series A funding led by Canvas Venture Fund with participation from Subtraction Capital. Canvas Venture Partner Rebecca Lynn is joining HealthLoop’s board of directors.

HealthLoop was founded Dr. Jordan Shlain. Not only is Dr. Shlain a physician, but he is also the commissioner of the San Francisco Health Service Systems Board. HealthLoop helps deal mitigate problems that patients have that experience symptoms, which are unreported between visits. Dr. Shlain tried to solve this problem initially by tracking patient visits on spreadsheets to help him remember follow up between visits. Eventually the spreadsheet was turned into a tool that helped his practice.

HealthLoop plans on using the funding to hire additional talent and expand the development of further patient engagement and follow-up tools.
