Snapchat’s ousted co-founder Reggie Brown claims that the restraining order was meritless
Snapchat’s ousted co-founder Reggie Brown claims that the restraining order filed against him by Snapchat and their law firm Quinn Emanuel was meritless. Quinn Emanuel filed a temporary restraining order against Brown and his law firm Lee Tran Liang & Wang LLP for leaking confidential information to BusinessInsider.com.
The information that was supposed to be kept confidential was a series of deposition videos that Business Insider published of Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel, CTO Bobby Murphy, and the ousted co-founder Reggie Brown.
Lee Tran Liang & Wang filed the restraining order as being “meritless.” According to BusinessInsider, here is what the law firm said: “Defendants’ Application is a meritless attempt to scapegoat plaintiffs’ counsel for defense counsel’s neglect of their own responsibilities and their strategic mistake of initiating the disclosure of discovery materials to the public.”
The document claims that Quinn Emanuel also leaked plenty of information to the press and is just picking and choosing the information that they do not want to have published. Lee Tran Liang & Wang added that the videos that Business Insider published as not a breach of confidentiality since the transcriptions from the depositions were released publicly in a court filing this past July.
