Automotive tech company Zubie raises $10 million
Zubie has raised $10 million in Series A funding. Zubie was founded by Tim Kelly, a former executive at Sprint. The funding was provided by Kansas City based OpenAir Equity Partners. Castrol innoVentures also participated in this round. Kelly used to be president of Sprint’s consumer division.
Zubie has developed a product called the Zubie key. The Zubie key can be plugged into a car’s diagnostic port to analyze driving patterns and trip data. The information can be sent to an Android or iOS phone from there.
The Zubie key is being sold at several retailers, including Amazon for $100. Today Zubie is based in Charleston, South Carolina and has 13 employees. The company plans on using the new round of funding to increase staffing.
