6Wunderkinder, the company behind the Wunderlist task management app, has acquired messaging service Moped and will be shutting it down on December 31st. 6Wunderkinder acquired the source code for Moped, but is not responsible for the shut-down.

Existing Moped users will get a free month of Wunderlist Pro. Based in Berlin, Germany, Moped raised $1 million in funding from Earlybird Ventures, Lerer Ventures, SV Angel and Betaworks prior to the acquisition.

“The acquisition allows us to further cement Wunderlist as the one place to host all communication around your to-dos, whether it be real time conversations, files, notes or assigned tasks,” said 6Wunderkinder in an interview with TheNextWeb.
